So I've been having a shitty year so far. Work is crap because of my press partner, my car is crap and is costing me a crapload of money, because my car is always in the shop I can't work overtime to pay for my crap car. I've been to 3 funerals in 2 weeks and there is still too much snow on the ground. FACKERS my life is crap!

Mildly Guitarded

I got my guitar out last night, which I haven't done in a long, long, time. I suck! I'm going to have to teach myself how to play all over again. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal, except that my other friend Cathie and I are planning a FanJam here come April for Great Big Sea fans so I need to be able to play.

The plans are coming along just great so far. We have a place booked already. It's called The Blue Angel and it's a funky little artsy fartsy place above a bar. The best part is, I can get this place for free.

We'll be having an open "kids" jam from 5 till around 8pm so the kids can get into banging on the bodhran or playing tin whistles or something. The we'll be taking a break for about an hour while the band sets up. Yeppers, we've hired a band to play at this shindig! They are from the Toronto area and they are called Disc4. The disc4 is in reference to some BNL song me thinks. The lead singer started pimping the band on the Great Big Sea msg. boards about a year ago and I've seen them perform a couple of times. If you close your eyes while they are singing some BNL tunes, you'd swear Steven Page was in da house!

They do a pretty good job on the GBS stuff as well which is why we hired them to begin with. They'll play from approximately 9pm to midnight and then we'll have another jam for the older kids till the wee hours of the morning.

There has been a lot of prep for this so far, and it looks like things are coming together rather nicely.

I have a "friends" Christmas get-to-gether this afternoon. This should prove to be interesting as far as the gift exchange goes. One friend is always crying the blues about not having any money when in reality she has more moola than I do but she always manages to buy her presents at the dollar store. Another friend is moving and we are taking bets that she is wrapping up stuff from her house to give as gifts. I know this sounds mean, but if you only knew how much time, effort and money I put into Christmas for my family and friends than you might understand a little better.

I realize it's not the dollar amount of the gift, or even to receive a gift at all, but if you are going to give, than at least put some effort into it and not pass off some leftover trinkets that you've got laying around the house that no longer interest you.

Don't get me wrong, these two people may be the most hiemy (sp?) people that I know, but the are great friends in other ways so I gues that's why I keep them around.

I'll let you know how it went.

My Stash

So here are a few of the things that I got for Christmas this year. Apart from the usual clothing that one gets for Christmas, I also received a number of cartoon items as well. Here is a pic of the stash you just can't see the Winnie the Shit jammers I got, because I"m still lounging around in them.

So here is a bobble head Betty Boop, a Betty lunch box, a Curious George lunch box and some sort of Charlie Brown/sorry ass tree thingy. So just what does that say about someone, when they receive a bunch of cartoon stuff as presents? Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining here, I really do get a kick outta this stuff but I'm just wondering where is the love for Bugs Bunny?!;)

That's all she wrote!

Happy Ho Ho Ho!!!!

Thought I would be a little more original than just your average "Merry Christmas" is it working?

I've had a great Christmas this year. It started off with some friends dropping by for some nibblies and drinks in the afternoon on Christmas Eve. Have you ever bought that "Nog" from the liquor store? Man it's potent stuff, just ask Judy. She had to have her's cut with a little milk cause it was a little too strong for her. I thought it was mighty fine stuff, but that's just me.

Early evening, after I packed my overnight bag, I ventured over to Deb's place for the traditional Ukranian Christmas dinner, no meat. There was plenty of other yummies to be had though. There was cabbage rolls, perogies (yummers), fish, salad, sauerkraut (sp), it was quite the feast. I got there a little late so most people had finished eating by the time I got there, but it was all good.

Next up was Bill's place, where I spent the night. I stay overnight there so I can open presents with the family and not have to do that by myself at my apartment. We've been doing this for a few years and it works out pretty good. There is always quite the stash under the tree when you wake up on Christmas morning.

It was a treat to see Abbie opening her presents and getting all excited with what she got. Being a five year old on Christmas morning has to be one of the best things on earth. She got so much stuff, she actually said at one point, "no more presents". What a hoot, huh? Can you imagine a kid say "no" to presents? LOL.

Around noonish, my mom, Bill and I headed over to Brian's place for a we visit and a cuppa tea. We like to have a little stop-over to say "hi" on Christmas. After that we headed to mom's to drop off her stash and to meet Cathy so we could take her to dinner. Cathy's mom is in hospital and we didn't want her miss out on a Christmas dinner. There is always room and plenty of food at Deb's place, which is where we always have our Christmas dinner, and another fine feast was had. Me stuffed!

Took everyone home and here I sit in my jammers with a nice cuppa tea!

Hope eveyone had a happy one!

Got My Snow Day!

Yeppers kiddies, I was devising a plan to snag the day off of work and still get paid for the holidays and low and behold work calls and says they are closing the plant and this shift is cancelled! Yafuckinhoo!

There was just too much shite out there, started with snow, rain, freezing rain, snow again and everything is a big fucking mess.

Judy calls me to see if I was going to work, and when she found out that I was off she asked me over for lunch. She is only two blocks away from me so I stagger (because of the ice and snow) over to Jude's' place and we have a nice afternoon.

I take the long way home because of the shitty walk over and passed by my car. It's completely covered in ice. I couldn't even open the doors that s how much ice is on there. I thought it was best to leave it till the morning because it might actually be a little warmer and melt a wee bit so I don't have to chip away at that much of it.

I still have to do that grocery run in the morning then a few peesp will be coming by in the afternoon to have a couple of holiday drinks. Nice way to start the holidays.

That's about all she wrote for now!

Wishing For A Snow Day

I'm hoping it snow's like a bastard on Thursday! We are expecting freezing rain on top of it all as well. I'm dreaming of a white snow day! I just don't want to get to work and THEN the shite starts and I'll have to drive home in it. I had a crap drive home tonight. Not the worst I've ever had, but it was still 1-1/2 hours to get home. Saw many accidents along the side of the highway too.

If we had a snow day, I wont' get paid, but it wont affect the holidays so that's cool. I'm officially off from Friday till Jan. 3rd which isn't too shabby. Unofficially though, I've been on holidays since Monday. Yeah I've still been working, but I refused to get stressed out. No matter how fast we've been working it hasn't been fast enough. So there is no point in killing myself at this late date. So when the boss comes by and wants a little more out of me, I just say "no problem" and do what I can without going into hyper mode.

A snow day would give me time to finish wrapping those 58 freakin' presents and then tidy the place up. It looks like a bomb went off in my livingroom. I have to do a small grocery run on Friday for the stuff that you want fresh so no biggie. I figure I'll get up and out before most of the peeps and get back home and treat myself to a nice long soak in the tub with a nice tall egg nog!

I'm sleeping
And right in the middle of a good dream
Like all at once I wake up
From something that keeps knocking at my brain
Before I go insane
I hold my pillow to my head
And spring up in my bed
Screaming out the words I dread:
"I think I love you!"

Phew! Now that THAT's out of my system, maybe I can go to bed and get some sleep!

Nighty Night!

Craic Kills

Yeppers, one of my favourite peeps is at her usual self righteous self. There is a newbie who has posted something freaky deaky in the OKP regarding Alan. Not too sure if it's a set-up job or just someone who doesn't know what they are doing. I"m beginning to think the later just because someone has mentioned that said newbie has been back on-line, but hasn't posted. I wouldn't either if I was attacked like that.

Here is the freaky deaky post along with the craics bullshit......

J0E 2K0
Who knows maybe one day we will connect. You and I .My smile I'm sure you already know
Keep that smile thats all it took the day I first saw you when I saw your face and heard those songs it took my breath away, and i felt something strong inside of me. maybe its because we are meant to meet one day..So if i don't hear from you i will think of that empty stocking waiting to be hung besides yours.
God bless and keep you WE all HAVE and DO not HAVE on our list Which one is yours, care to tell me :)

Dude, you're a fucking loon. Get some help.

So this has now started a war on the OKP only day's from Christmas. I'm sure that if it isn't a set-up job, then Lynda, Ariel and CraicHead think it's me. It's not and I don't really give a ratz ass about it either. I've been a good girl in there and have only vented in other msg. boards to relieve my frustration with the Freak of all Freaks!

Now this venting has gotten me into some shite too lemme tell ya. For some strange reason, Ariel thinks I'm stalking her. I have no idea where she is getting this idea from, but the only thing I can think of is that I view journals of friends and she and some others are listed as "friends" as well. It's a GBS thing I'm sure.

After the whole Woody thing, I thought about getting a journal but I know most of the OKP peeps used Diaryland so I went searching. I came up with two, Blogger and LiveJournal. Linz was the only one I knew (besides my own friends) who uses LJ. I thought it was the better option than Diaryland. Funny thing is I didn't want to look like I was bugging them and then low and behold, I find them all on LJ as well. It was truly by accident but I'm sure they'll never believe that.

How did this come about? While I was scrolling around I saw a picture I made of Alan and the Stop Stalking Me thingy on Ariels journal entry, but this one said "Hey Sandy" so I left a comment but it just fell on deaf ears as I thought it would. I saved it just in case I needed it sometime, and when I find it, I may post it.

Anyhoo, needless to say, they have been stalking ME for the last little while. Go figure, they are the ones who are the trolls now. Fackers!!!

I'll leave it at this for now and I'll keep ya updated as things progress!

I'm On Holidays

Well, I"m not exactly on holidays yet. I'm just pretending to be because it's better that way. It's the last week of work and I'm not going to start freaking out! I'm not going to cave under any pressure, I'm just going with the flow til the holidays.

We are working on some new labels for Alberto and I spent the entire shift colour matching. Well at least the guy on day shift will be able to run somthing now. Hey watcha gonna do? My luck I'll still have some footage to run on this item, do the wash up and then have to set-up the next one.

Suppose to be some shit-ass weather coming on Thursday! Great, just fucking great! That's all I or anyone needs this close to Christmas is fucking 10 cm. of fucking snow! It's the last day of work for many people and if you don't show, you don't get paid for the holidays. SHIT!!!

Man I like the money, but sometimes I really hate the drive to/from work. You can run into some shit-ass stuff when you live an hour away from where you work. I'd move closer, but all my friends and family are here and the rent is sooooo expensive in Toronto that it's hardly worth it.

I have an okp rant coming on, but me thinks I'll make that another entry.
